Klassy Kat Productions is not named for an exotic stripper, nor a sex club, nor a sauna lounge.  It is named for my cat 'Miss Klassy'.   Our CFO, Chief Feline Officer, is a typical tabby house cat.  But she is quite the shrewd business cat.  She monitors all of our work, carefully helping to type messages to her admirers when she can find a free keyboard.

As for me, Deadre Anne (D'Anne) Bruetsch, I'm a retired computer engineer.  More  techie than a creative person.  But after being a long term caregiver to both my biologic mom and my adopted mom, I have a special passion for the issues of growing old.

Digital cameras and imaging software are one of my specialties.   I worked more than 20 years in the astronomical community at Mauna Kea Observatory in Hawaii, and at Kitt Peak National Observatory, in Tucson.   I made the telescopes move, coordinating the actions of all elements with the data systems.   I was personally involved in taking the very first infrared images of the galactic core  - our Milky Way. 

More recently I was in charge of hardware integration for Wind River Systems in Alameda, and staff engineer for color laser printer research and development at Konica Minolta Systems Laboratory in San Mateo.

I don't call myself a true photographer.  I don't try to make the one 'perfect' image.   As a videographer I try to capture the whole event.   All the stuff in between those perfect moments captured in photographs is important to me.  I'm also interested in getting the sound right.  A photograph is better than video with poor sound.  But video with good sound is much better than a photograph.

Having been the official videographer for my church, Peninsula MCC, for ten years I decided that I wanted to do this as my retirement occupation.   I have put together wedding videos for a number of church members and friends.  Recently I prepared photo montages for memorials and then videoed the full memorial service to capture the various people honoring their loved ones.   These are usually delivered as full DVD and Blu Ray packages for the families.

My passion tells me that capturing family stories before they're gone is the stuff to bind families together.  To work in that direction I joined the Association of Personal Historians.   This wonderful national group is inspiring me to seek out living memorials, ethical wills, and family events of all types as my personal specialty.
